I had an individual contact me recently inquiring about my uplighting services for his wedding in upstate Connecticut. However, this was not any normal lighting prospect...
His name was Richard Esposito- a professional photographer, owner of R.E. PhotoDesign Photography, LLC., International Award Winning Wedding Photographer, Emmy Award Winning Editor, and a Top Photographer Award (just to name a few).
It is often difficult to "sell" people on the idea of how much something as simple as background lighting can transform a reception hall or tent for your wedding, Sweet 16, corporate event, private party, or gala. However, Richard approached me and actually surprised me with this comment: "As a photographer, I know how important the lighting is". Coming from an established man like himself, this speaks VOLUMES.
I also had to opportunity to participate in Bosco's Bridal Show in Stamford, CT a few weeks back. There were about 6 photographers there- 4 of them approached me. They all said the same exact thing as Richard- lighting is an extremely important part of any event. Not only does it enhance the appearance of the venue or tent but it...get ready for this (because it is often overlooked)...enhances the photographs of your reception! You may be thinking "Oh big deal"- Exactly!
It is a big deal. Find a photo of yourself at a recent event whether it be a wedding in New York, a corporate event in Connecticut, or any other special event in Long Island...it looks OK you think, right? The walls are beige, the ceiling is eggshell white and you and your friends look OK.
Now use your imagination!
Picture the walls with pink and white uplighting and a monogram projected in the background. You and your friends look 10 years younger and more vibrant and excited! Or how about that corporate event in Connecticut- it happened to take place at a planetarium. There are dark blues on the walls and ceiling, images of stars...clouds...the moon- all very warm and inviting.
This is exactly what Richard and those 4 other photographers were talking about. Your pictures will look significantly better with the addition of event lighting! And they were excited to finally find a company that specializes in just that!
To all photographers out there- I hope my lighting design services increases your clients satisfaction!
To all bride and groom to be's- I hope my event lighting services increases your satisfaction with the way your pictures have come out!
